I am here!
Alright everyone it is 7:00 o'clock central time and I will go ahead and give everyone a couple seconds to hop on and join us on behalf of the University of Evansville. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules. To join us this evening before we get started, I am going to go over some quick housekeeping items while people are still joining us. There is a full screen option in the top right hand corner of your screen.
If you are not already, please use Google Chrome for the best results. Closed captioning is available and can also be found on the top right hand corner of your screen, and the event is being recorded. So if you would like us to send this to you after the event, just let us know. You won't be able to change in between slides during the presentation, but I can also send you the slide deck after you can just send me an email. You will see a brief overview of today on the right hand side.
This is an introduction to UE session, so we will be covering quite a bit of information and I want to be respectful of your time. I will check the chat box frequently, please bear with me as I present and change slides and try to read questions all at the same time. I do have some awesome colleagues in the chat box with years of experience. I've alumni joining me and parents of current UE students in the chat box as well and so you might hear from one of them if I don't get to your question.
Way to get started. My name is Sarah step and I am an admission counselor here at the University of Evansville. Every student here at UE is assigned an admission counselor based off of where they are from. I primarily work with students in central and Northern Illinois, was central IN in the state of Ohio and Michigan. So if you are joining us from those locations, hello and I'm here admission counselor. You can also go to our website and use our interactive map to determine who your students admission counselor is. We are here to support you every step of the way.
Throughout the college search process, so please feel free to reach out to us at anytime and your student doesn't have to be a senior to reach out to us. We really want to help you from the start. The college search process. So if you have a sophomore or a junior or even a freshman, feel free to reach out.
OK, to get kicked off, let's start off with some fun facts about UE and the University of Evansville is located in Southwest Indiana and is home to roughly 2400. Students are student to faculty. Ratio is 12 to one in the average. Class size is about 18 students. That's honestly smaller than every high school class I have ever had. So students here are really going to get that personal touch and be able to build those personal connections with faculty members. We offer a wide array of internship opportunities as well study abroad opportunities.
We do have a study abroad site located in Grantham, England and I will touch on that and a couple slides. UE is also one of the smallest Division One institutions and our mascot is a spur full which is pictured on the slide.
Here at the University of Evansville we do offer over 80 different majors and areas of study with direct entry opportunities for physical therapy, physician Assistant, nursing and athletic training. I know this isn't probably the best graphic to show all of our academic programs, but I hope that you will go to our website to see the complete list. Now you can also go in and see some class projects that students have done. Read about alumni profiles, made some of the faculty. So definitely check out everything that we offer.
On our website.
And I mentioned that I'd get back to Harlaxton College, which is located in Grantham, England. So this is our study abroad site. Students get to live, eat and study here on the manner alot of students make the comment to me that they think it looks like Hogwarts. So that's my opening line for the manner. It's the building that looks like Hogwarts. If you have actually seen the trailer for The Secret Garden, I believe that came out early August. You might actually recognize harleston. There actually some shots of the manner in that movie trailer so.
That's a little fun. Back to see my already recognized the manner. If your students are actually interested in studying abroad, and if that's something that is really important to them, we can connect them to our study or harlick stand program specialist just to chat more about the programs we do offer several different programs, so there's a couple options here on the screen, but please know that every student at the University of Evansville does have the opportunity to study abroad, regardless of major. That's including nursing in our engineering students.
Cherie Leonhardt
07:05:16 PM
My son studied at Harlaxton over the summer session. Loved it!
If you have a student who is interested in nursing and engineering and also wants to study abroad, we can make that come true. Most students, while studying abroad, usually study abroad. Sophomore year, sometimes junior year, just depending on where it fits in the program, and a lot of students take some general education classes in a British in a British studies class, harlots intuition is actually the same as you eat tuition, so all of your students, scholarships and financial aid are applied to Harlaxton just like a semester at UE.
So the cost is roughly the same as if your student were to be studying on campus, and if you are worried about your students studying abroad, I totally understand the one really unique experience that you we offers is being able to go over with other members of the community so your student won't be the only UE students studying abroad or won't be the only UE student there. They'll get to travel with their friends and some faculty members also travel as well and get to teach over at the Manor.
And if a semester is too long to go without seeing your student and maybe want to go visit, we do offer family like special family weekends at the Manor so you and your family can go visit your student while they're studying abroad and Harlaxton so you can start planning your next family vacation to visit your student while they're studying abroad.
Next, I'll cover a little bit about the honors program, so the University of Evansville does have an honors program. We accept students from all majors in any student can apply. You can students filling out an application if there a senior in high school, can apply right on their application, or if they're not sure if they want to join the Honors Program yet, students can join as a current student at UE. We have approximately 200 students involved in the honors program and about every incoming class. About 60 to 70 students in the Honors Program.
Some of the honors program requirements include 15 honors credit hours. Students have to earn for participation points each semester and complete in honors project, so I've listed some more benefits here on the slide, but if this is something that your student would really be interested in or you think they would benefit from, please do some more research on our website and reach out to your admission counselor and we can go more in depth of how it would benefit your student.
Next, let's talk about living on campus. So the University of Evansville does have a two year lavon. Requirements are freshmen and sophomores live on campus. We do have the villages which are on campus apartments and townhouses for our upperclassmen. Laundry is free in our residence halls and students are allowed to have cars on campus and I'll go ahead and say it again. It's one of the most common questions I get. All students, including freshman, can have cars on campus. We also have air conditioning, which might be important to some I.
Didn't realize how uncommon that was it, so I started on this side of the admission world, but all by residence halls are air conditioned.
We do offer several different dining options and I'm a huge foodie style of technical. All the food on campus, so please know your student will not go hungry. Cafe core is our main dining Hall on campus and is home to 8 different stations ranging from create station which features a flat top Grill in like made to order breakfast. That's really good. Lincoln Ave deli is very similar to subway. They also have ice cream, a grill A12 features traditional grilled favorites you can do.
Grilled chicken breasts burgers but also do like really fancy grilled cheeses. Those are always my favorite and there is also an extensive salad bar and soup options for students and I cannot give a UE presentation without mentioning the dessert station is that would be my favorite. Rademakers Cafe probably serves Starbucks, so if you have an avid coffee drinker, we have a spot for them and probably the most popular spot on campus would be the Chick-fil-A. That's usually what gets students and they were. They visit campus and they round the corner in Ridgeway and see Chick-fil-A. They're like.
There's a Chick-fil-A on campus, so it's definitely the most popular spot. We also have aces place and they cook market which are grabbing go locations for students who may be need something on the move. Aces places actually open 24 hours so students can swipe in with their student ID and it's just self serve. So whatever students name. So if they're hanging out in the residence Hall and they have friends and they want to get like chips and salsa or chips and queso, there's also little freezer section if they want to get like bagel bites or pizza rolls or something.
They can just grab that needs their student ID. We do offer a variety of meal plans and you can find a very detailed list on our website, but we do have a sbux on something that I want to talk about. Ace books or like on campus cash and that's locate or that's loaded onto student IDs, so all of our dining locations on campus except ace Bucks and those can be reloaded at anytime. So what this means your student doesn't have to worry about carrying around a wallet.
Or cash or any of like their debit or credit cards with them. They carry around their student ID with ace bugs loaded on. They can stop at Chick-fil-A and Radha makers and get coffee. Or if they want to get chicken sandwich or something and they can get that with Xbox, so just one less thing for students to carry and have to worry bout when they're on campus.
I don't see any questions. Quite yeah OK, I'll just keep on moving and don't forget there's a lot of us on here to help with the chat, so if you have any questions please feel free. Poem in the chat box next I will kind of transition into student life. UE offers over 130 different student organizations. Some of the organizations are more social like. We have a quidditch club. There's a game player society and venturing crew. Venturing crew actually went kayaking this weekend.
The pictures from that was really fun, but they got a group of students together. They went kayaking. That cookout students probably frisbees and footballs, so it looks like they had a lot of fun. We also have Greek life on campus and roughly 25% of our campuses involved in Greek life and those students really do make a positive impact on our campus. Some other organizations that can also mention we do have a pride organization on campus as well as an international club and a black student union.
07:11:31 PM
What are the requirements for being admitted to the Honors Program? Is there an SAT requirement and is that a firm requirement?
So my favorite student organization has to be the bass fishing team, which he would have thought we had a bass fishing team, not me, but this is Noah in Blake, and the reason why I like to brag on them. They actually placed seventh in the National FL W Championship, so I am oddly familiar with the FL W tournament series.
So I'm really proud I know how much work it would have taken to compete at that level, so I'm really proud of them for placing the high nationally and also just this morning it was announced that the University of Evansville has been named to the Wall Street Journal's annual US college ranking for student engagement. So you we actually ranked 16th in the nation among 4004 year colleges and universities, so we're pretty proud of that ranking. So moral of the story with student organizations and just student life. Whatever your student is involved in, I am sure.
So we have a club for it.
UE does offer 17 Division One sports, so if your student is interested in watching sports, there is probably something going on for them. Students can also attend athletic events for free with their student ID, so there is no need to buy an athletic pass or get student tickets or anything like that. They just need to show their ID and get right in. That's another good question. If this is something that's important to you, student of attending athletic events, it's a good question to ask other universities if they can attend.
Sporting events for free.
And a common question, I get a lot is why do students do on weekends and let me give you an example of what a student told us last week. So we had a virtual purple visit day last week and we have a student share that her goal was to do something new in Evansville every weekend and she said the hardest part of it is actually saying no to things, and it's not finding things to do. It's actually prioritizing what she wants to do. Just because there's an abundance to do. So here are some campus events that actually just happened this past weekend.

07:13:50 PM
All students are welcome to apply for admission to the Honors Program, either at the time of their application to the University or after admission. Students who meet the following qualifications are more likely to be admitted to the Honors Program:
unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above and minimum SAT of 1360 or minimum ACT of 29
And I'll cover the city of Evansville later but this past weekend. They actually had a movie night on campus. They spray painted blocks on our East Terrace Lawn so each student got their own block so they were socially distanced and they had a movie on the stairs long so that was pretty cool. I already talked about the venturing crew went out on Saturday. Intramurals are starting back up again, so a lot of students are excited for them. Trivia is also really popular. I don't have any trivia events happened this past weekend but I think they're trying to do trivia every Tuesday.
Which I know they were giving away a free pizza for whoever won the friends trivia on Tuesday. So I wonder who won that?
Cherie Leonhardt
07:14:06 PM
Students apply for admission through the Application for Admission. All students are welcome to apply, regardless of scores. however those with scores of SAT
And there's just a lot of things to do. I was I was looking here and it looks like the honors program also held something this weekend as well.
Next, I'll talk a little bit about student resources, so I know that there are a lot of emotions when sending your student to college, but please know that you eat is going to take care of your student. Your student is going to become a member of the UE family and we really want to see them succeed. Our Center for career development actually adopts an end to end approach, so they will start working with your students today. Now I'm before the Ravens students here at UE, so your student can actually participate in the career advantage program.
Cherie Leonhardt
07:15:01 PM
Ooops, sorry. Jordan beat me to it.
Which allows high school students to complete some online career assessments. They might learn about a new career that they even know was possible, or they might just learn more about themselves. The Center for career development is also available to alumni for free. So if your student graduates gets there first job, maybe they're looking for a promotion or want to get a raise. Or maybe they're wanting to move to a place where they just wanna update the resume. They can always come back and utilize our services on campus so that just kind of gives you an example of how we really want your student to succeed here.
Next on the list we have academic advising, the writing center, free peer tutoring, academic coaching in the math lab, and that is a lot of information, both what that tells you is that it's really hard for students to slip through the cracks here. There are so many resources for your students academically that they're struggling in the class. Not only are they going to have access to their faculty members either before or after class, during class for an office hours, but all these all these resources on campus are also available to them.
07:16:06 PM
If a student is part of the 3+3 direct entry physical therapy program, is it realistic to also be part of the honors program from a workload/time standpoint?
I actually had a student who I was working with last year. I asked her what her biggest fear was when coming to college and she said he was taking a math class in college and I totally understand. That is also one of my fears and she sent me a text. I think it's the second week of class and she had told me she just wanted to give you a quick update and she said that she had attended her first Matlab in her first math session and how she feels confident in taking a math class here at UE so.
I just just. It was a feel good tax to get that one of her biggest fears was resolved.
Play next, I'll move into the University library. I didn't mention the before I move on, I want to mention with counseling services for students disability support services in the Center for diversity, equity and inclusion, I realized I didn't finish reading my full slide. Next, I will move on to the University libraries and just the services that they provide. Your student will actually have access to research assistant, so all students, faculty members, and other researchers can actually meet with a research librarian.
To work on their research. So if your student is may be overwhelmed or is never done research, they are there to help our students.
Cherie Leonhardt
07:17:12 PM
Yes, the Honors Program is realistic for all majors to manage.
And if for some reason your student were to need something that we don't have, we do have our interlibrary loan so we can always get whatever piece of material your student may need. An. Then printing is also campus wide, but I've seen a lot of students print in the library or over in Ridgeway University Center. Students do get 200 free prints a year and I've asked students how they feel about the 200 free prints and most students don't have an issue with the limit being on it most the time. You don't print papers off, usually they're just.
Turned in on line and the library also offers group study rooms for students. Do their book for small group projects or if they were to have like a zoom or Skype interview. They can also book those subway. They have a guaranteed quiet spot. There's also computers, laptops, another group areas for students to utilize, and a fun fact. The information desk actually has a large game collection, so if students need a break they can grab a board game from the info desk. So just be good stress relief.
Cherie Leonhardt
07:18:12 PM
The course requirements for the Honors Program also meet general education requirements so they are not in addition to degree requirements.

Now a common question that I get all the time is what happens in my student gets sick, so we do have a Health Center on campus and I've listed some of the services, but there's also a full list online by. I want to give you a personal example. Last year my work study, she was a senior music therapy student. Her senior clarinet recital was in four days. She came into the office. She wasn't feeling well. She thought she had an ear infection. She was obviously worried freaking out her recital was coming up.
She was actually able to get an appointment at the Health Center later that afternoon and was able to pick up medicine there right after her appointment and she felt better within a day and a half. And I went to a clarinet recital and it was awesome. So she felt 10 times better being able to be seen on campus and they get that pretty quickly and so that just goes to show that not only do we care about our students academically, but we also care about them and just their overall health.
The next common question that I get a lie is about campus safety. We like most college campuses, do have the emergency poles so students can press a button and receive help in a matter of seconds.
We also have ace alerts, which I'm personally thankful for. SOAS alerts is a notification system that you can sign up for if you're a member of the community and these alerts get pushed to office phones, you emails and any registered cell phone that signed up for the service. I am thankful for the system personally because they push out weather alerts as well. So there's actually one night where I was humble loan in the tornado. Sirens started going off around midnight. I don't have cable so you can imagine how scared I was waking up to the tornado sirens.
And I was trying to get online trying to find a news outlet that was maybe Facebook live in the coverage, but I actually saw on my phone that I had on my ace alerts that we're pushing out the watches and warnings for the area. So even though I wasn't watching a live broadcast, it made me feel so much better that I had those push notifications coming through. Ace alerts on my phone as alerts will also push out alerts for gas leaks, oil orders, anything like that, so just know that if something were to happen on campus.
Your student is going to be notified in a matter of moments on their cell phone, and I did lose some services that public safety provides. One thing to note, if they will jump students cars, I haven't had to call them yet. Knock on wood, right? But if your student needed their car jump, they can always call office of Public Safety and welcome. Do that for our students, but if you have any specific questions, there is a lot more information on our website, so it encourage you to check that out, or I can help connect you to our chief Jason Column.
So now I want to switch gears a little bit and kind of explore the city of Evansville. So Evansville is the third largest city in Indiana and is home to roughly 100 and 18,000 people, and we are situated right on the Ohio River, and we do have a pretty expensive riverfront, which is my favorite part. Downtown Main Street is only about 9 minutes from campus and include some of my favorite restaurants in local shops and the forward center actually isn't too far from this photo. We go and switch slides so the Ford Center is a multi use arena and is mainly used.
For basketball, ice hockey in music concerts, and I've actually included a photo from when Aerosmith came to the Ford Center and actually sold out the Ford Center and then the picture to the right is a UE men's basketball game. So our men's basketball team does play in the Ford Center downtown, which is a lot of fun.
Evansville is also home to Fall Festival, which is a week long festival featuring over 140 different food boots. I'm a Foodie again, so I always have to mention the amount of food booths that they have. And there's also a carnival attractions. There's a parade and also just like fun. Different competitions. This festival actually attracts roughly 100 to 150,000 people every night, which actually makes it one of the largest St festivals in the United States, so I'm not originally from Evansville, but when I first came to Evansville.
This is the only thing people could talk to me about was you have to go to fall fest, so it's definitely the highlight of the fall semester in a lot of students like to go or they'll have boots will grab dinner down there or grab lunch. So it's a really fun activity. But students will definitely miss this year, but certainly one of the favourites.
Some other activities in the surrounding area. The zoo is actually 12 minutes from campus, and then there's an ice skating rink that's only four minutes from campus, and they also offer student discounts. So if your student is interested in like ice skating, or if that's something that they do now as a hobby, they can hop over and do some ice skating. Were also 10 minutes from the mall, which is dangerous. But that means I can shop during lunch, so the mall isn't too far away. If your student or do you need anything?
So I have covered a lot of information so far, but now I want to get into the admission requirements for the University. There are two different pathways for applying to UE. The first pathway is referred to a traditional pathway, which means students would apply with their AC T or SAT scores for admission. An for scholarship consideration. Second pathway is test optional and I will cover that in just a couple of slides. For the traditional pathway, here are some things that we require. The first is being your.
Students UE application. the University of Evansville does have a free application and we also accept the common app so you can apply either way, whichever is more convenient for you. Next, we will need a high school transcript in those standardized test scores. We do super score, which means that we will look at all the tests your student has taken and used the highest subscores to create the highest composite score possible.
So those test scores that are submitted, those would be used for admission for scholarship consideration and then the last piece of the traditional pathways in essay. While it's not required, it is highly recommended. Would love to learn more about our students. I love reading essays. That's one of my favorite part of my jobs. But also students can share their passions and what they're interested in and maybe share why they are excited to come to the University of Evansville Ann that allows us to connect them with on campus organizations. I.
Is that a lot? Last year, if the student mentioned that they were interested in something that we had, I would reach out and connect them to the store organization.
Do you know about an essay is required for some of our direct entry programs. So if you have any questions about that specifically or about a specific program, those are on our website or you can connect with your students admission counselor.
07:24:54 PM
How does the school's connection with the Methodist Church affect student life?
Now we know here student might not have gotten a chance to take a standardized test yet, so let's talk about the second pathway. The test optional pathway. the University of Evansville has been test optional for about four or five for five years. Now someone can correct me in the chat, but this isn't new to us. This is something that we've been doing for awhile now. The only difference between the traditional and test optional pathway is that the essay will be required in lieu of those test scores, so everything else is exactly the same except for the required essay.
In the past, test scores were required for our direct entry programs. However, if you have a high school senior who is interested in one of our direct entry programs and has not gotten a chance to take a standardized test yet, please contact the admission counselor to kind of talk through those options and what is available to you.
We know that it's been hard this year, so if there's anything that the admission counselors can do or chat through with you, please reach out another note, we are able to accept unofficial copies of high school transcripts and test scores, as well as official copies of these documents. So what that means? If your student were to take a standardized test, they can take a screenshot of the full score report. So we need all subscores and they can send that to their admission counselor to be attached to their application. Again, we're trying to be flexible, so if you have any specific questions or going to chat through any of the options, you can always reach out to your admission counselor.
Here are some important dates to keep in mind. Our application is open for fall of 2021, so if you have a senior at home or if you're working with a senior at the time to apply is now October 1 which will be here before we know it. Now that I look at the calendar is when fast. Well finally begins. Our next topic is tuition and financial aid. So I will bring this deadline up again, but any student who files for the pastor this year will receive an additional scholarship and I'll cover that here in a couple of slides.
Kelly Meyer
07:27:00 PM
We do not have any religious requirements for students and our students come from various religious backgrounds.
Next February 1 is the last day to submit new information. So if you have a high school senior who read tests this fall or maybe increases their overall GPA during this semester or their 7th semester, they can submit that information to their admission counselor and that would be considered for a potential increase in scholarship up until February 1 and then may one is college decision day, so students are encouraged to make their decision before May 1, but hopefully this gives you enough time.
Review your options, maybe go see couple campus says, do a couple of campus visits or do more virtual on line events and then you eat does have a $300 deposit to secure your place in the class of 2025.
So next, we're going to wrap up with tuition, financial aid, UE scholarships and how to receive those and kind of what the process looks like. So I'm going to be very transparent upfront here. These are the costs for students who just entered as freshman, so parents and families. These costs might change a little bit after the board of trustees votes on it, but this is to give you a rough idea. Now when looking at a private school, that sticker cost can be a little shocking so will talk about how we can bring.
07:27:58 PM
Is the SAT essay required if a student is submitting SAT scores?
Shut down every admitted student does receive a merit based scholarship and here is what our scholarship breakdown will look like.
If you don't see your student on here, please still encourage them to apply and will work with them to see.
The essay tea. Good question. The essay T I'm just now getting to the chat. I apologize. The essay TSA is not required. However I would suggest it. We do ask for a writing sample later on, so if your student were to choose you Ian Deposit, we would need a writing sample. If they've already taken that through the essay T, they wouldn't need that supplemental writing sample in the spring. Someone might be able to articulate that better in the chat.
Kelly Meyer
07:28:46 PM
If they have the SAT essay score, they will not have to take the UE writing placement test as an incoming freshman.
But here is our scholarship breakdown again, if you don't see your student, please still encourage them to apply to see what they qualify for. We can't put every option otherwise it would probably take 10 slides. We also have stack on scholarships like a $5000 housing scholarship, which is included in this chart so far. Incoming freshman for the fall of 2021, students living on campus will receive that $5000 housing scholarship. So if you are a local family, if your student plans on living at home, that $5000 housing award will be taken off the.
In there.
Jordan Hall
07:29:14 PM
The SAT essay is not required for admission or scholarship consideration though
Total amount that you will still get the rest of that scholarship that is viewed in this chart. Now if the merit based scholarship isn't going to cover the rest of the bill, I would highly, highly encourage families to file the fast starting October 1. Sometimes I get the question. Well, I think we make too much. We're not going to qualify for anything. He still should apply. Even if you believe that you may not qualify for any state or federal aid institutions like the University of Evansville can actually offer grants from our own institution. And, as I mentioned earlier, we are offering that.
Incentive scholarship to families who do file. And that's an additional $1000 that would stack on top of the merit and housing scholarship. So if you have a senior who hasn't applied yet, that's definitely in their next step. Get their application in and then I would strongly recommend filing the bass was closed October 1 as possible. The sooner we get that information and the sooner we can send you your total financial aid offer so that will breakdown your specific costs to attend the University of Evansville that financial aid offer will include your students academic scholarship.
Any kind of grants, federal or state, any work study opportunities that they could qualify for, potentially any grants from UE and then it will go over loans. Now those conversation can be hard to have over a web and are there might be a lot of questions that you may have. Maybe you don't know how to ask them or what to ask, but please know that once we start sending out our financial aid packages are admission counselors will actually reach out to schedule a one on one call with you to go through your individual financial aid package with the line by line.
So even if you have questions now, please reach out, but know that we will reach out to do those one on one reviews with you as well. We really are here to help every step of the way, so please utilize us when that time comes.
So here are some outcomes for the University and 96% of the class of 2019 were employed or in Graduate School within six months of graduation with the median salary being just over $51,000.
We usually get on my soapbox here of why you should choose the University of Evansville, but I'll try to condense this down. But we're passionate about helping students graduate and our graduation rate is actually twice as high as most state universities in our region, so we care about our students, so we want to make sure that we're getting them to their careers faster without having to take on additional debt. US news and World Report also came out with our 2021 rankings and we are proud to say that we are ranked #4 for Best Regional University in the Midwest.
And I will go ahead and end the slide with this so you can read all the awards and rankings the Huey is going to add a lot of value to a students life, and when choosing a college your student really needs to make an investment at a place that's going to invest 110% back into them. And you can expect that at the University of Evansville and you can have confidence in the fact that he is going to prepare your student for the real world. They're going to be able to think critically, foster innovation, and there definitely going to stand out.
So we're going to welcome them to the UE family with open arms and know that we are going to make your students dreams become reality so I could chat about that all night. But I will move on to some of our visit opportunities. We are able to offer in person, individual on campus visits right now. So if you're interested in feel comfortable visiting campus, you can get a campus tour from a current UE student. We are also offering virtual group visits so something very similar to this but will have a faculty member in it. Current students you can ask.
Some questions as well. We're also doing virtual individual visits, so if you want to meet your admission counselor or if you want to meet one on one virtually with the faculty member or a current student, we can help arrange that. There is also a virtual campus tour on our website, but I'd also encourage you to check out YouTube in early March, we were actually able to film a Facebook live campus tour with one of our seniors. Her name is Kelsey, she just graduated and knows her last campus tour. So we were so glad that we were able to give her another opportunity.
To give a campus tour, but you're more than welcome to take the campus tour on our website, but definitely check out that You Tube Facebook live 1 just kind of different perspective of campus and being with calcium little bit different. And then let's talk about upcoming parent in family sessions. If you want to register for these as well and I promise I'm not talking at the same time to listen to me for another 45 minutes October 13th. We're exploring the fast fund. December 2nd. We're talking about navigating the college search process and then January 28th we're going to cover how to pay for college and understanding the financial aid process.

So if you're interested in the Flames signed up for those as well and then here are some next steps. And this is for families who have seniors or people who are working with seniors. If they're already applied in admitted to the University of Evansville, you experience will be launching soon, and that's an online platform for admitted students to connect with current UE students. Another admitted students, I would highly encourage you to encourage your student to get on. You experience a lot of students last year actually found their roommates through experience.
In the spring I had a student call me just to kind of give me an update and she had met her roommate there. You experience, they actually lived 30 minutes away from each other and they were actually able to meet each other socially distant. They had like a little Mini Graduation Party and between the two of them dissolve it, graduating, and they got to meet each other. So it's a really great opportunity for your student to connect with other admitted students and then also be able to ask current UE students questions and get advice and follow us on social media.
And I have our social media handles on the next slide, but we do have a taktak, so if your student is on tick tock and maybe that's annoying you, at least encourage them to follow the University of Evansville so they can learn more about colleges while they're on the app and then visit whether it's virtually or in person, we'd love to connect you with faculty members, current students just so you get a holistic view of the University, and then finally would be to submit a deposit to secure your spot in the class of 2025.
07:35:51 PM
Does the date of deposit determine housing priority?
So here are our social media handles. It looks like admission got cutoff or then went to the next line. Definitely follow us. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and again tick tock. It's brand new for us so definitely follow us on that. We're featuring a lot of new content and you also get to see what's happening on campus in different campus events. So if you're ever wondering what students do on the weekend or what students are doing on a Wednesday afternoon, probably posting about it.
So definitely give us a follow.
Nope, the deposit date does not determine housing priority. However, students who apply earlier the housing application will will usually open up early March, so students have already deposited can start filling out that housing application, but you'll fill out your top three housing options or where you want to live, and they do a pretty good job of honoring your first or second choice for housing.

Jill Fisher
07:40:13 PM
www.evansville.edu/visit
How do you set up an in person too or a good question? If someone in the chat wants to drop the link, you can go online and schedule there you go, chills gotcha. Go ahead and follow that link and you can pick the day and the time that works best for you.
Thanks Joe.
And while visiting in person, not only will you get an in person campus tour from a current student, but we can also set up a time for you to meet with the faculty member Center for career development. You want to chat with the current student in the area of study that your student is interested in. We can try to set that up too.
07:40:58 PM
Great.... Thanks
Yeah, thanks for joining tonight. Thanks for well stated. We talked for 45 minutes.
And we'd love to see one campus soon. We're very thankful that we're able to still have.
In person, campus visits and the students are excited to give campus tours again. Trust me, they were so eager to get back. An inmate was with to me with perspective students. So if you want to chat with the current student, we can connect you as well. I think sometimes high school students like to hear it from a current student perspective. Sometimes they don't like listening to us talk all the time, and that's OK. So we can also connect them with the current student.
I'll stay on for a couple more minutes and see there's still a couple of people.
Hanging out let me know if you want me to go back to the slide.

Let us know if you visit campus ahead of time and want Evansville food recommendations...I'm very passionate about this :)
But again, thank you for joining us, I know.
Schedules can be hectic, so thanks for curving out this 45 minutes to join us.
Yes, food recommendations. I've a running list in my phone, so there's actually one of our work studies. Anytime her family comes to Evansville, it is their goal to eat somewhere new each visit, so she also has a lot of food recommendations as well. So big advocates for all the food locations in Evansville. One of my favorite parts about the city.
About one more minute, if you have any last minute burning questions and then we will wrap it up if you need anything, please just email admission at evansville.edu and we will get you.
All the information you need.

Theatre performance majors audition after being Yep, so for Theatre performance majors. Here student will apply to the University of Evansville. The admission counselor for your area will review your students application and then audition process is required.
And if someone wants to drop the link for theater for the audition requirements, I don't have the.
Song requirements or.
The lines that they need to know off the top of my head I used to, but I haven't looked at it in a little bit.

Yep, thanks Joe.
07:44:31 PM
Thanks!
But encourage your students to look over those audition requirements and start preparing those, and once they get their application and will move them throughout the process.
There was definitely a musical Theatre class outside the other day. They were singing outside in a tent for class, so I walked really slow so I could try to figure out what songs they were singing so.
I got serenaded walking across campus.
Alright, well it is 7:45 and that's when we said we would go to online. So if you have any last minute questions I'll give you couple more seconds to put them in. But thank you again so much for joining us tonight and for listening to me talk.
Hopefully we'll see you on campus or for a virtual individual visit soon.
Alright, Thanks again everyone for joining us and we'll go ahead and closeout the event. Thanks and have a great rest of your night.
